Congratulations to the members of BCT Robo Aces on their outstanding performance during the 9th Philippine Robothon held at St. Paul College, Pasig seizing a total of two champion titles and two other major awards! This remarkable feat is thanks to the training and instruction of in-house robotics coaches Sir Joshua Lorenzo, Sir Abbas Johnny Pumbaya Jr., and Ma'am Glory Fie Betonio. Brokenshire College Toril (BCT) Robo Aces brought home the“robacon” and claimed awards including two champion titles during the 9th Philippine Robothon held Saturday at St. Paul College Pasig. Robo Aces Orion in Junior Category, consisting of Ian Jay Judiadan, Arthur Vizcayno, and JZ Vohn Paniamogan, as well as Robo Aces Centaurus in Senior Category with Dann Gregory Allexis Morillo, Ace Gabriel Yrogirog, and Aslanie Marsangca aced the championship in Mini Robot Challenge. Meanwhile, Miya Shane Magbuhos, Daniela Gabawa, and Julian Lorraine Saan of Robo Aces Cassiopeia won 1st runner up, and Robo Aces Phoenix, consisting of DK Rophe Paniamogan, Brandon James Roy, Remlan James Gabutero, received the Distinction Award in the Junior Category. “We trained for a long time to perfect the program. We encountered some problems but thankfully, we solved it immediately,” Robo Aces Orion member JZ Vohn Paniamogan told THE SPARK. Although unplaced, the following represented BCT in the Middle Category of the competition. • Robo Aces Carina: Jade Bagasbas, Stacey Eijansantos, and Yuna Choi • Robo Aces Andromeda: Dean Armit Garcia, Khalil Diamla, and Shawn Lyle Manlicmot • Robi Aces Pyxis: Alexander Jazz Dumlao and Marie Raven Deguma The team was coached by Glory Fie Betonio, Abbas Johnny Pumbaya Jr, and Joshua Lorenzo. Sir Joshua Lorenzo told THE SPARK that, “Being the champion for consecutive years, puts a lot of pressure on us, but more than the competition it is the learning experience that we always aim for, an experience that will help us grow and develop in this field.” He also mentioned that he is proud of the delagates who throughout the training and competition period “embraced every challenge ahead of them with collaboration, creativity, and teamwork, stay focused, and took every challenge as an opportunity for them to showcase their abilities and shine” With the theme, “FUTURE: Filipinos in Unified Technologies, Unveiling Robotics Excellence Pagtanaw sa ating Ambisyon tungo sa Matatag na Edukasyon”, the competition aimed to showcase the innovative solution thriugh designing, building, and programming robots.
